The CARDIOHELP System:
Designed to Save Lives

Cardiovascular disorders (CVD) are the number one cause of death globally. An estimated 17.5 million people are dying annually from CVD, representing 30% of all global deaths. Many of them experience cardiogenic shock because vital organs are not adequately supplied with oxygen. But if the patient is quickly connected to an extracorporeal life support (ECLS) system, a fatal outcome can be averted.
The MAQUET Heart Lung Support (HLS) System including CARDIOHELP and the disposable HLS Set and HLS Cannulae is the world’s smallest and lightest life support system. The portable system provides ECLS to replace or support the patient’s circulation and respiration. This is called cardiopulmonary support.
The CARDIOHELP life support system is light enough to be carried by one person and compact enough for transport in a helicopter or vehicle. With its disposables, its integrated sensors and its software versions the CARDIOHELP life support system opens up new posibilities for patients who require veno-venous ECLS or veno-arterial ECLS and opens up new posibilities for CO2 removal and the use of a minimal extracorporeal circulation (MECC). The intuitive control unit and the plug and play principle enables fast initiation and handling even in emergency situations.
